Fairglen Eco Community is a groundbreaking development in Cornwall.  This video produced by the Carbon Trust goes behind the scenes to talk to the developer and architect and shows the ethos behind the development.  Showcasing these beautiful homes it describes the techniques used that have enabled the houses to have approximately 70% less carbon emissions than a normal building regulation house.

See first hand how the heat pumps, rain water harvesting and solar panels help to keep the home at a constant temperature and supply hot water on a shoestring. The large windows give plenty of natural light and add to warmth and open plan style of the house.

One resident describes enjoying substantially reduced power bills - in the last year his total cost for heating,  power and cooking came to under £500.

2011 Outlook - Cornish Homes for Sale

As we approach the end of the year 2010, we can look back and see that it has proved to be very much a ‘mixed’ year in sales. Stamp duty changes affected the market with the £175,000 threshold helping sales earlier, although the reversion to £125,000 has seen some house prices decline throughout the latter part of the year. There has been a general increase in the number of properties available for sale from August to October, which has led to pressure and competition in pricing.
