At Percy Williams we are committed to promoting a sustainable future and take our environmental responsibilities really seriously. We are taking a wholistic approach to green building, rather than just 'bolt on' extras. In addition, they are a shrewd investment, with rapidly escalating energy costs now a serious consideration. Eco-homes at Fairglen, which are under construction in just two phases, have received praise from both national and local government and are pioneering what new development should be about. As a natural part of the energy efficient design of the Fairglen Eco-homes we have incorporated solar voltaic panels into every dwelling.
As you would expect these are required by the Low Carbon buildings trust, and of course it makes perfect sense to harness Cornwall's sunnier-than-average weather conditions to create green energy for your home.

Eco heat pumps are another important feature of a low energy building, and the units we have selected are the best available.
Eco Heat Pumps is owned by Swedish company Danfoss, and provides heat from the ground, via an 80-100 meter deep borehole under each property.

One of the many techniques used to make the Fairglen development as sustainable as possible is the use of Rainwater Harvesting in all of its properties.
The "Aquaprof" Rainwater Harvesting system in place has been developed and supplied by DAB, and provides a supply of filtered rainwater to the toilets, washing machines, and outside taps of each property.

You don't see it but it is vitally important - the Insulation going into these homes has to be second-to none. We all understand the principle - if you don't loose the heat from your home then it costs much less in heating energy to have to replace it.
